Galaxy 138
Chapter 1

“Aw man, not again!”

A small workshop on a hill was home to a boy named Jay, who always believed in life on another planet. He was working on a small rocket to take him into space. A young inventor, Jay decided to try an expedition into deep space.

He stood in his workshop with his hand covering his face in annoyance.
He looked at what was once his rocket, but was now just a pile of scrap. As he paused to examine the wreckage something caught his eye.

“Huh? Oh no….”

He looked at a small piece of the rocket, but a very crucial one: the self-dismantle mechanism. He figured something must have hit it by accident. He slapped himself with disbelief.

“I need to get a safety lock on that thing…”

He had it installed in case the rocket gets trapped or the door gets stuck or damaged, and so that should a disaster happen and he gets trapped in it, the rocket would gently come apart for him to come out.

You see, in the year 2054 A.D., In Beanville, everything appeared simple, not much different than as a small town would look in the late 1900’s. But Jay had a vision, to make everyone realize that they could be advancing technologically, and would try to convince everyone of that, even if he was only 16.
Jay came from an orphanage, but always had a great intellect. His personality was that of a brave, noble, sweet, kind, caring and somewhat awkward person. He was moderately tall, had brown short hair and sported a red futuristic monocle, a white shirt, blue jeans and a pair of brown loafers. He usually tries to do good things for others: but ends up messing up yet somehow mystically helping them anyhow.

Still he couldn’t help but wonder…..
Who pressed the stinking button!?

He lived alone, isolated on a small hill, but did have one companion that came to mind.
He flipped through the pile of rubbish to find what appeared to be a three and a half inch tall toy Lion.

He gave it a cold look. “Leo!!!”

It looked back. “What? I didn’t know it would fall apart….”

You see, many years ago when Jay was 9, he stumbled across a mirror. It appeared to shine in a bright and unusual way. He deeply looked into it to find another world, made up entirely of living toys and stuffed animals. As he gaped in awe he saw a small toy Lion, named Leonard. He tried to enter the mirror directly and actually just went right through. He was a Giant in their world. When he got close up to it, he tried to communicate with him with success and as a result they became friends and eventually took him into his home. He still lived in the mirror, but visited Jay every day for the past 7 years using the mirror as a door. Jay thought of taking the mirror into space, so he put it inside; next to the dreaded button.

He put two and two together and figured out what happened.

“Aw raspberries… I forgot you were coming today!”

Leo merely stuck up his nose in disgust. “Whatever! I’ve been coming here for almost a decade and you don’t remember I was coming!? ”

He stared at the three and a half inch tall lion with a look of remorse. “I’m sorry Leo…..I’m just very frustrated. I’ve been working day and night on that thing…And this is the third time this week it falls apart!”

Leo chuckled. “Did you consider a safety lock?”

Jay nodded. “I’m going to get to work on one right now.”

Leo watched his step out. He smiled as he looked at what was once a rocket. He looked through it’s remains to find his ticket back home. Once he found the mirror, he dragged it halfway across the room despite it weighing over 9 pounds and set it against a table.

“Good thing I’m that strong….Hey Jay! I’ll come back In an Hour to see how you’re doing ok?”

Jay yelled from the next room: “Yeah, sure ok!”

With that Leo jumped in the mirror and retreated back to his own home.

End Chapter one.
